Head ‘em Up and Move ‘em Out!

By Daniel Wadleigh One of the most effective ways to influence potential customers is by using what I call the “irrefutable argument.” One of the goals of any promotion is to generate the response, “I’d be nuts not to do this,” without actually spelling it out directly. One way to stimulate this response is by describing the consequences of not doing what you have offered as totally unacceptable to any rational being. You are basically: 1) “educating” them to all rational choices and their consequences; and 2) you are rubbing their noses in the situation. By that, I mean that you are confronting them with the choices and gently forcing them to choose. In particular, if you have a product/service that they really know they should act on but have resisted actually taking the step, you are best served by giving them a clear and comprehensive view of all options and their advantages and disadvantages. This forces them to think about it, and makes it more difficult to rationalize not doing what they know they should. Example: Everybody wants a great view, but, you only have four choices - 1. You can leave the curtains open (and endure the glare, overheating and carpet fading) 2. You can close the curtains and only open them occasionally (and have “cave effect”, with only occasional glare, overheating and carpet fading) 3. You can plant trees and wait for them to grow up to 20 feet in height. OR, 4. You can put solar shade on the outside of the windows, still get a great view, reduce solar glare, heat and fading by over 70%! When people are confronted with the choices, and, when one choice is superior to the point of “I’d be nuts not to do this”, you will get more response than, ‘We offer solar shade, and it’s great stuff.” The number of responses is directly proportional to the level of un-acceptability of the consequences of not making the choice. There is a common phrase, “Great marketing will make a disturbance,” and this is why it’s great! Along with creating a desire to act, it is also smart to encourage them to choose you. The goal for this response is the same as before, “I’d be nuts not to buy from this guy.” If you don’t, you will be generating lots of business for your competitor, and he is sure to appreciate the free advertising! Remember that you must elevate yourself high enough above the competition to get them mad. You need to “head’em up and move’em out” to your business, not the other guys. First, you sell Chrysler, then you sell Jones Chrysler. Educating them to the unacceptable consequences of the other choices is paramount to maximizing stimulus-response. Weight Loss: Keeping Your Results Over the Summer

By Mike Boyd Having just returned from a week of basking on a beach, I couldn’t help but notice how many over 30’s were overweight and apparently doing little to help it. The other thing I noticed from chatting, was how many people had low carb dieted prior to getting to the beach, yet didn’t seem to be following any diet now, except perhaps a weight gain diet. Many of us diet to look good on the beach, but then fall into our old habits once we get there, and end up getting back on the diet roller coaster yet again. If this sounds like you, here are a few tips to help you keep your weight loss and still have fun during the summer. 1. Prepare low carb snacks before you leave and take them with you. 2. Drink diet soda or Iced tea without sugar (ok Canadians, you can groan now…) 3. If you want to drink a little beer, try one of the new low carb beers. 4. Quench your thirst with a new Crystal Light Slurpee 5. Steak and salad makes a great summer bbq favorite. 6. Invite guests to your place and serve them your favorite tasty snacks like low carb fudge which just happens to be good for your eating program too! So enjoy your summer and keep your carbs low. You’ll not only look better in that swim suit, you’ll also feel better knowing you won’t again be trying to lose the weight you put back on after last summer. Commercial Litigation Financing

By Jennifer Bailey A person who suffers a personal injury caused by another person can go in for litigation cases. Similarly, companies too are often involved in litigation. The reason can be attributed to the competitive market and unfair competitions, too. Here the simple disputes in the conduct of business and commercial transaction sow the seeds for litigation. The companies may reach a discord due to various factors. These can be a wrongful termination of an employer or employee, breach of contract, disputes of insurance, partnership, shareholders, bankruptcy and so on. Such disputes of commercial transactions can affect the business of that company. For instance, one of the two companies involved in partnership joins hands with a third party clandestinely. There is a breach of trust and related damages caused on the other company. This cheated company can file for litigation against its partner company. Finally, the disputing companies try to resolve their ongoing case through the court. This is known as Commercial Litigation. The companies, like the individual, take the help of an expert attorney to protect their interest. The attorney files the case for a contingent fee. The company involved in litigation, with the support of the attorney, seeks the Litigation Financing Company for its expenses. The company providing Litigation Financing evaluates the case. If the case appears worthy enough, the company offers an advance, often, termed as litigation loan. These are pre-settlement advances of non-recourse nature. That means the company gets its recovery charges if and only if its client company wins the case. But to ensure proper Commercial Litigation Financing one needs to resort to the attorney. Litigation Financing provides detailed information about litigation financing, commercial litigation financing, litigation cash advances, litigation financing companies and more. Litigation Financing is the sister site of Lawsuit Funding Companies. Your Bills Are Due? Get Approved For Bad Credit Loans!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Kate_Ross]Kate Ross If you use the loan money properly and repay the most expensive debt first, you can even save money by requesting a bad credit loan. It may sound strange, but borrowing money to repay other debt can be advantageous if the terms of the new loan are better than the terms of the outstanding debt. For example, if you request a bad credit loan with an APR of 14% to repay a cash advance loan or a credit card balance with an APR of 20%, the residual 6% will remain in your pocket instead of the lenders. Bad Credit Bad Credit is an annoyance; bad credit wont allow you to obtain traditional loans at normal rates. There is not much you can do about this problem. The only thing you can focus on is improving your credit score and history. A bad credit loan can help you with that. If you take a bad credit loan in order to avoid missing payments, you are already aiding your credit. But if you use the money to repay debt, you are doing even more. Basically, obtaining finance through a [http://www.accessmyloan.com/credit.php]bad credit loan may lower your credit a bit, but missing payments will lower it even more. So, if you need funds to go through some financial difficulties till you solve them, dont hesitate and apply for a bad credit loan. These loans may be expensive, but under these circumstances, they are well worth the money. Interest Rate The interest rate of bad credit loans is higher than the rates of the equivalent traditional loans. However, it is not true that all bad credit loans carry higher interest rates than any other loan. A bad credit personal loan has a higher interest rate than a common personal loan. Yet, a bad credit home equity loan has a lower interest rate than a regular unsecured personal loan. So, secured loans, even when tailored for those with bad credit, offer very reasonable rates and very affordable monthly payments. If you have enough equity on your home, bad credit home equity loans will provide the best solution to your credit and financial problems. Otherwise, youll need to resort to unsecured bad credit loans that do have higher rates. Locating The Right Lender In order to locate a lender that suits your needs, you need to relax and start doing some research. If you are too anxious youll get nowhere or worse, youll end up closing on a bad deal. The best thing you can do is search the internet for bad credit loans and request loan quotes from different lenders, compare the APRs and once youve decided which loan best adjusts to your needs, you can fill the online application and wait to be contacted by the lender. From then on, youll be guided by the lender. Just make sure to read the loan contract thoroughly before signing anything. Six Good Reasons For Going Organic

By Marie Fisher I will freely admit that I devour every article that I can lay my hands on which deals with anything related to gardening. Everyone has something which they are passionate about in life, mine is my garden. My friends tell me that I am obsessed, and maybe I am. I think my partner is obsessed, in his case it’s golf, but as yet I haven’t heard any of his friends telling him that he is obsessed. The compelling joy of being a gardening enthusiast is the creativity of it, because you can see really tangible results for your labour. Watching your favorite roses blooming, or the pleasure of eating your own home grown vegetables, well, I think that takes a lot of beating. However each to his own! One of the reasons why I enjoy writing articles on my passion, is because I know that they will be read by people who most likely share my enthusiasm, and can relate to what I am talking about. One hears the term “Organic” so much nowadays, that I decided to do some deeper research into the suject, and I am sharing with you in this article some brief findings from that research. So the following paragraphs summarize some of the work of various gardening experts who are completely familiar with all aspects of gardening. I must say that I found some of the information totally fascinating. Since we are discussing the term “Organic” in a gardening context, it might be a useful start to define exactly what that means, so here it is, “Organic gardening is the way of growing vegetables and fruits with the use of things only found in nature”. Really simple isn’t it, but most certainly not commonplace any more in today’s world I suggest. Having led up to all of that, a good question might arise as to exactly why you would want to indulge in organic gardening as such! Well, as the title of this articles suggests, here are six good reasons why you should do so, in my opinion at any rate. 1. You can easily make compost from garden and kitchen waste, alhough this is a bit more time consuming than buying prepared chemical pesticides and fertilizers. However it certainly helps to put garbage to good use, and so helps the environment. 2. Organic farming does not use chemicals that may have an adverse affect on your health, which is especially important when growing vegetables. The chemical companies do tell us that the chemicals we use are safe, provided that they are used according to direction. Research has shown however that even tiny amounts of poisons absorbed through the skin can cause such things as cancer, especially in children. Quite a sobering thought is it not! On average, a child ingests four to five times more cancer-causing pesticides from foods than an adult, which could lead to various diseases later on in the child’s life. Remember, pesticides contain toxins that have only one purpose, which is to kill living things! With organic gardening, these incidents are lessened. 3. Less harm is caused to the environment, because poisons are not washed into our waterways to give but one example, causing death to the native fish and polluting their habitat in most cases. 4. Organic farming practices also help prevent the loss of topsoil through erosion. The Soil Conservation Service says that an estimated 30 - 32 billion tons of soil is eroded from United States farmlands every year, and that’s only one country. 4. Cost savings, because you do not need to buy costly chemical fertilizers and pesticides with organic gardening. Many organic recipes for the control of pest and disease come straight from the kitchen cupboard, and sometimes other plants can even be grown as companions to the main crop. One example of this is the marigold, which helps to repel aphids from vegetables. Mixing 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap, and 1 cup of cooking oil, can make a cheap garden pest spray for example. Put 3 tablespoons of this mixture in 1 quart of water and spray on to your plants. You will find this to be very effective! 5. A simple mulch of pine needles will help to suppress the growth of weeds, as well as keeping the moisture in. Another simple and much safer solution! 6. Organic gardening practices are much more likely to help keep the environment safe for future generations, and all of us who are responsible ciitizens, should always bear this in mind The whole subject which is part of an on going worldwide debate, is far too complex to cover in such a short article, but I do hope that at least I have left you with some food for thought. Imagine the overall benefits to be had in our environment, by many people undertaking even some small changes. The Origins of Aromatherapy

By Jeanette Joy Fisher Aromatherapy, which involves the use of essential oils to treat various ailments, has been used by healers for thousands of years. Although its origins are difficult to trace, the use of aromatherapy goes back at least 4,000 years, possibly beginning with the ancient Egyptians, who were known to have used aromatic botanicals in many different ways. The Egyptians used a number of herbs and spices for soothing massage, medicine, cosmetics, and even in their embalming practices. Centuries later, it was Hippocrates who may have been the first high-profile advocate of aromatherapy. More than 2,000 years ago, the creator of the physicians creed that bears his name was an outspoken believer in the benefits of aromatic massage for both physical and emotional well-being. In the 10th century, the Arabs invented a process of distillation that allowed for more efficient extraction of the essential oils from plants, and for centuries, cultures from every part of the globe have inhaled aromas, drunk potions, and worn aromatic amulets as healing aids and to protect them from harm. By extracting the essential oils from plants and herbs, aromatherapy has been, and continues to be, used to address a wide range of physical and emotional ailments, from headaches to herpes, from dry skin to acne, and from arthritis to asthma. In modern times, France and England have led the attempt to reintroduce many ancient remedies to the world in the early 1900s, and to help aromatherapy gain greater acceptance in the traditional medical community. France still leads the world in rediscovering modern uses for ancient remedies, and many French doctors routinely prescribe aromatic remedies for their patients. That practice is reinforced by the fact that French pharmacies stock a wide variety of essential oils, and insurance companies are willing to pay for treatments involving ancient healing methods. America currently lags behind the French and English in the use of aromatic medicine, but as more and more people experience the healing properties of aromatherapy, its use will continue to gain popularity in the United States. Corn Everywhere: We All Live In Iowa

By Sarah Sandori I just read something fascinating. It’s a fact cited in a book called Omnivore’s Dilemma, by a writer and journalism professor named Michael Pollan. The startling fact is this: Corn is everywhere in our diets, much more than you might have imagined. If Pollan is to be believed, corn accounts for 13 of the 38 ingredients in a McDonald’s Chicken McNugget. Of the 45,000 items carried by a typical supermarket, more than a quarter contain corn in some form. Pollan happens to think that corn’s dietary omnipresence is not a good thing. I am somewhat sympathetic to that view, especially if you count the fact that corn syrup that is used to flavor so much of our food and drink. Some experts put most of the blame for the growing obesity problem squarely on corn syrup. Pollan further notes that each bushel of corn that is grown requires the use of as much as one-third of a gallon of oil in energy. Some of the oil used in growing corn evaporates and contributes to acid rain, while some of it seeps into the water supply. Thus, the widespread use of corn has environmental and energy consequences. As far as our diets, though, I for one have to admit that I am an unrepentant fan of corn. There is nothing as delicious as an ear of sweet corn eat roasted on the grill and dripping with hot butter. And what would I do without my corn tortillas, used in so many Mexican food dishes? Nonetheless, I’ll be the first to admit that an overabundance of corn at the table is not a good idea, especially if it is crowding out other components of a balanced diet. As delicious and versatile as corn can be, it lacks a number of crucial nutrients that our bodies need for optimal health. In times and places where people ate almost nothing but corn, even if it was plentiful, they generally were malnourished. My advice: If you enjoy corn, don’t feel guilty about continuing to eat it or to serve it to your family. But do start noticing how much corn you are getting in your diet. Read labels! The, if it seems prudent, find ways to cut back on the total amount of corn products that you consume. Sarah Sandori is the food and entertaining columnist for the Solid Gold Info Writers Consortium. E-Letters Should be Part of Your Marketing Plan

By Claudia Trusty Absolutely. E-letters should be an integral part of nearly every companys marketing plan. They are both time and cost effective, reaching all of your clients and as many potential clients as you have permission to solicit via email. I am a huge advocate of e-letters; our company sends one out every month and we receive additional work because of contacts made through our e-letters. Developing e-letters is part of our client services. So why have I recently talked clients out of using e-letters for their businesses? Because e-letters are not a quick fix solution. They should be one tactic in an established marketing strategy. Have a marketing plan If you dont know where youre going and what youll say when you get there, dont bother communicating. You need to have your companys branding messages developed. Mission The basis for your brand is what your company provides to customers and why should they care. Visual elements Logo, identity, tagline, colors. All the graphic elements that stimulate customer recognition and support your Mission. Message planning The marketing messages you want to focus on for the next 12 24 months. Tactics The specific action points that will communicate your brand and message. Getting your brand in the door One of the big reasons I believe in email as a marketing or branding tactic is because it supports visual recognition. Certainly content is important, but recognition allows the receiver to acknowledge the brand and let the message in. Lets give it a quick test right now. Think about Coca Cola. Unless you have never seen their logo, chances are that right now you are visualizing the white script on red background. You let the brand in immediately and now youre ready for the message. Well-executed e-letters work the same way. Your letters identity is the first image your readers will see and a positive reaction gets you in the door to tell your story. Maximize that opportunity: Consistently use a masthead, including e-letter name that immediately connects clients to your company identity. Use photography and other graphic elements to create excitement. A picture is still worth a thousand words! Design a layout that is appealing and a format for articles thats easy on the eyes. Font type and size as well as colors used are a major issue in viewing any written Internet communication. Take various systems into account and test on as many as you can until you are sure your e-letter will display equally well on most servers. Follow all the rules. Read the Can-Spam Act and use only your own permission based mail list. Your in, now make it worth their while Once your e-letter achieves entry, give the reader something of value. Do not use an e-letter for blatant advertising or you risk losing subscribers. Support your brand with information related to your companys industry, articles that can inform and educate, even entertain, without a hard sell. For instance, if you are in the automotive business offer topics like Fill Your Tank Less Often or Lease or Buy, Which is Best for You? rather than directly selling cars. If no one on your staff has the ability to craft well written articles, hire a professional or use a publishing service that allows reprints of articles at no cost, like ezinearticles.com Keep articles to 250 300 words. If an article must be longer, show the opening paragraphs on your e-letter and link to the full story. Add humor, points of interest that are relevant to your industry and link articles and photos to appropriate web sites that might be useful to your readers. Our own web site receives the most click thrus from our e-letter; second place goes to Cool Site, a feature about other sites that we like and find very entertaining. Decide what success looks like Reports are available from all e-letter service companies and you should regularly review them to measure the effectiveness of this marketing tactic. We looked at click thrus to develop future content and bounces to correct addresses. Even more importantly, we listen to the feedback we receive and react to it. Our readers know what they like and we think servicing this customer is part of our overall client service objective. Consistency counts Dont embark on an e-letter campaign unless you are able to maintain it. We have clients that distribute monthly, bi-monthly and even quarterly. How often is not as important as consistency. Your readers should know what to expect and when to expect it. And this is where we beganwhy I have talked clients out of developing e-letters. If you dont have a brand identity or marketing plan, if you dont have the ability to develop content, if you dont have a permission based mail list, dont start an e-letter campaign. You will be very disappointed with the results and abandon the effort after one or two issues. With well thought out planning and focused execution, your e-letter campaign will support your brand and might just be the most cost effective way to communicate with your audience. It will definitely be worth the effort. Claudia Trusty develops strong marketing and branding messages that drive results for small and mid-size companies.
